Renaissance Festival in Holly, Michigan

Besides having six different parks filled with different activities that can be enjoyed throughout the year, Holly, Michigan also has many festivals that they host. Starting in August, the Michigan Renaissance Festival gets underway for weekends and Labor Day until the beginning of October. For events, they have the Renaissance Smoker where you can sample cigars, hors d'ouvres, and alcohol while listening to music and stories. Then there is the Queen's Tea where you can try different types of teas from the Renaissance era. There is also a feast and cafe at Blackstone Castle. Then there are the theme weekends; the Buccaneer Beer Fest, the Highland Fling, Royal Ale Fest, Wonders of the World, Italian Carnivale, Festival Friday, Harvest Huzzah, and Sweet Endings. As for music, the Renaissance festival will be hosting Rio Blue, A Reasonable Facsimile, Auda Al-Adaw, Owain Phyfe, Caleb the Piper, Harp, Celtic Harp, Dragon Tale, Harpnotic, Crannog, Arbor Consort, Village Fiddler, Musica Royale, Conner Savage, Djilia Phralengo, and Zingara Music and Dance. In addition to all of this, the festival will be hosting a number of stage performances; the list includes Christophe the Insultor, Ric Roc Zoo, Washing Well Wenches, The Bocca Show, i and the Middle East Dance Ensemble, Ded Bob, Pippin Puppets, Rogue Blades, The Zucchini Brothers Danger Theatre, Ample and Trite, Filthy Rotten Scoundrels, Joust, Flight of the Raptor, Manolete, Silent Lion, Undertaker, Hob the Troll, Juggler, Bawdy Boys, Doc and Prof Theatrical Emporium, Menagerie, McSpillin, and Stone Clover. While you enjoy all that the Renaissance festival has to offer, make sure you check out the vendors to grab a souvenir on your way out. This year they will be selling costumes, kilts, hats, tights, art, candles, photos, honey, as well as offering face painting, henna tattoos, hair weave, and caricatures.
